Avery hadn't been sure why she was actually going through with this, actually going to Jesse's party. Sure she had known the Hollows pretty well thanks to her friendship with Abby, but she wasn't sure what this was going to accomplish. However she had gotten dressed and headed off to The Ceaser to help celebrate with the Hollows family. She wasn't really nervous about going, after all she would be surrounded by other people, and that meant many viewing eyes. What could possibly go wrong? Actually scratch that, she knew many things could go wrong even with a crowd of people around.

Of course she had thought to soon and first the police were barging in, and then the lights had gone out. Avery didn't like the dark very much, it made her extremely nervous to think that someone could be lurking up behind her and she wouldn't see them. Instead of standing around in the dark like an idiot she headed up towards her room. It was a splurge event on her grand parents part, not that she had actually wanted to spend the night here. Really taking the room had been more of a way to hide out if she didn't want to be in the party anymore.

The stairs were even more eerie without the lights on and she found herself glancing over her shoulder every so often. There was this extremely uneasy feeling in her gut that told her danger could easily be lurking around any corner. Maybe that was something she didn't need to worry about, but she wasn't going to be able to settle that feeling any time soon. Reaching the hall that her room was in she took another glance behind her and got to her room. Digging into her purse trying to find her room key. Briefly her fingers brushed her phone and she pulled it out to lighten up her purse. Pulling out her key she unlocked her door, and then dropped her phone as she opened the door. Stooping down she picked up the phone, and heard foot steps in the hall and her heart skipped a few beats.

[/b][/color] she whispered. “Why would I kill Abby?” The police had questioned her but; she had nothing really to share. The Hollows had given her everything, including a home and a family; she would never do anything to hurt them. “Unless I have some ulterior motive,” she whispered, laughing slightly at her sick attempt at a joke. She wasn’t in the mood.

Closing her door behind her she walked across the hallway and turned to the left. She saw someone bending down, picking something up off the floor. Walking towards the figure she attempted a small smile, but it failed and she dropped the pretence quickly. No one would expect her to act happy now, not after everything that was going on. Walking slower she decided not to scare whoever it was. “Hello?” Carrie called from a few feet away, staying back in case she lashed out. She could tell the girl was slightly scared. But as she looked closer she realised who it was. She had seen Avery on quite a regular basis, seeing as she was a friend of Abby’s. But no one had really expected her to come to the party. Carrie wasn’t too sure of the details but she didn’t care too much either. “Avery. Oh my god, I’m so glad to see you. I didn’t think you were coming.” She looked over at the other girl, not trying to smile, not trying anything at all; just thankful that she had found someone she could trust. Not that she could truly trust anyone.

[the masked killer]

the killer had so gloriously managed to get the lights out all around the hotel--thanks to the dumb ass security guard who had fallen asleep with the keys hanging out of his pocket. that had given the killer perfect access to the fuse box. sure enough, there were going to be some unsuspecting guests still lurking around the hallway.

casually walking that way, the killer spotted to girls, all alone--what more fun could the killer come across? with a smirk, the killer let out a creepy cackle and jumped behind an abandoned maid cart, waiting to see their reaction. this would be entertaining, and god only knew what the killer would do for entertainment.

"didn't your mummy ever tell you not to wonder about the dark alone?" the killer said creepily, the voice it spoke in was warped, you wouldn't be able to tell it's gender or have any hint of who was behind it. lucky for the killer.

When she heard someone call out a hello she nearly chocked on her surprise. However she then heard her name and she was whipping around where she stood. A soft sigh of relief escaped her lips as she saw that it was Caroline Hollows. Sure that wasn't the first person she had expected to find out here, but it was better than who she had thought would be out here. Apparently Avery hadn't been the only one who had been surprised by her own appearance here. Smiling gently she continued to fiddle with her door before giving up. Her hands were shaking way to much to try and get into her room. "I surprised myself coming here. I was surprised to be invited." Sure she had been close to Abby, but she didn't realize to the Hollows that meant an invitation to other events.

Maybe it was just the dark playing with her but she was sure she had heard more footsteps. Looking over at Carrie she wondered if the girl perhaps wasn't alone. However that didn't make any sense, if Carrie had been with another there was no reason for the other to hide. Unless of course Carrie was being followed. This sent a chill down her spin as she looked around, it was hopeless she couldn't see much in this light except what was right in front of her, and at that moment Carrie was right in front of her.

Hearing a cackle Avery instantly felt chills running up and down her spin and she bit her lip not to scream in terror. How cliche horror movie would that be? Lights out and screaming at evil laughs. Next she heard someone speaking in a strange voice, and she couldn't decide if this person was a male or a female. It didn't matter though she instantly found herself stepping in front of Carrie as if in protection. "Didn't your mother ever teach you that it wasn't nice to sneak up on people?" she retaliated, probably not the smartest idea but she was scared.
