• : * : • o u t f i t Sloan had gotten a call from some reporter asshole. Since she was the only person in the town that'd been arrested and had gone through the whole criminal justice system. Bullshit. Most of the people in this town should have gone through it. Sadly they could pay their way out of it most of the time.
She sat at the diner with a large sundae in front of her and waited for the guy to show up. She wasn't going to wait long however.

To be honest, Theo felt bad for the poor kid. High school drop out who had gotten in trouble. he'd lived in Richmond long enough to know that the rich kids did worse shit and never landed in jail. Theodore was reading the file that Richard Crowley had left for him, considering this was supposed to be his story, but his sister got cancer and he quit the paper. Their boss still wanted the story done however.
Personally, Theo wasn't that thrilled. The girl had beaten a girl into a coma, and Theo knew he was no tough guy. Sure he worked out, was in shape, but he wasn't sure he could handle a fight... not that he really expected one. He just wore jeans and a light gray t-shirt. They were meeting at a diner, no big deal.
He spotted her right away and went to sit down across from her. "Hi Sloan, I'm Theo Parker, from the Richmond Times. We spoke on the phone, and I believe you spoke with Rich Crowley before your, um, time." he said, offering her a hand to shake. He had no intention to upset her, or make her uncomfortable. he didn't think kids were bad kids, they were just raised wrong... and sometimes, people just made mistakes.

• : * : • Sloan rolled her eyes and shoveled a spoonful of whipped cream into her mouth. She didn't remember talking to any guy, then again that was years ago. The whole trial was just a blur to her now.
"That was six years ago, I don't remember." She said with a shrug. She was tired as hell from the night before. She'd partied harder than she had in a while and managed not to get in trouble for a night. She was rather proud of herself, hence the large sundae.

"Right," Theo said slowly, folding his unshaken hands on the table top. The sundae looked good... Did he sound like a dumb adult if he said that? He was only 26 and she was 18, he wasn't that old... right? Whatever.
"The Richmond Times wants to continue the story, but Crowley is no longer on it, so that's why I'm here. I'm just gonna ask you some questions about your time in juvy and then I'll be out of your hair." Theodore explained. Maybe she could put this all together, but he liked to be through. Most people appreciated it, but he couldn't decide what kind of person Sloan was yet. he was pretty good at reading people though, and he could tell she wished he'd just leave.

• : * : • Sloan shrugged and waited for him to start his questioning. She was an open book. She did hide anything from anyone really. She had one secret and that was it. The girl believed in the truth. Lies just got people in trouble and broke hearts. And she'd had enough heart break to last her a long time.

Theodore took her silence and decided to continue. "So, what were some of the worst things about juvy and what were some of the best?" He asked. Was there anything good about being in juvy? He didn't really think so, but at least it wasn't prison... not real prison.
Theo had never really stopped to think about juvy before, and what it was like, or how it felt to be there. It probably sucked. "If you could go back in time would you avoid what got you there in the first place?"

¸¸.•*´¯`v´¯`*•.¸¸ ¸¸.•*´¯`v´¯`*•.¸¸ Sloan laughed a little. The best part of juvy, she'd never thought there was a good part. Still, she'd said she'd answer his questions and she kept her word.
"No privacy, no freedom, foods awful, the guards are asses, ten fights a day, never seeing your family, the whole town hating you. Take your pick on which is worse." She said bitterly. She'd hated that place. It'd stripped her of everything.
"The best, nothing," she said with a shrug. There was no good part of juvy. It was a hell whole of satanic little kids.
"I'd do it all again." She said, thinking about how she got there. beating a girl into a coma. She'd deserved it.

Theo wrote dow what she said so he could quote her directly. The place sounded like hell as far as he could tell but whatever got her there was worth it. Putting that girl in a coma was worth it. According to her anyway. "You think she deserved a coma?" There was no judgement attached to the question. Some people did deserve things, and Theo wondered what made Sloan think that girl had.
ooc- short, sorry

Theo nodded slowly. "Do you mind me asking what she did to deserve it?" Again, no judgement, just curiosity into her mind and how she thought. What was equal to a coma in her eyes?
Theo tapped his pen against his lip thoughtfully. What would he be willing to put a person in a coma for, assuming he was physically capable to of course. Theodore figured if they killed someone he cared about, or was in the process of trying to kill said person.

Theodore just nodded and wrote down what she had said, or rather, what she hadn't. He really did wish he knew why she'd done it, but he understood, sort of... personally, he would want people to know what his actions had stood for, what made them important. Maybe that's why he was a journalist and not an ex-con.
"Anything else you'd like to say on the subject?" He asked, not really feeling like he was really gonna get much from her anyway, so he might as well let her say whatever she wanted and leave it at that.

Theodore nodded. "Yeah," he said. She was right, sometimes the wrong people went to jail, some people learned from jail. Some people were bad people, and not all bad people went to jail. Everything was a spectrum, like most things in life.
He went over her quotes and the file that had been left for him and he decided he was going to take this article a different way. "So what are your goals now?" he asked her. What did she plan to do with her life.
