Tired, annoyed, and all around sick of existing at the moment, Kimmie had wandered into the Coffee Bean looking for a reason to push through the rest of her day. Her blonde curls were pulled back in a low ponytail, and she still bore the remnants of last night's smudged eyeliner. All in all, she wasn't exactly in her most appealing state at the moment. Fortunately, most of the people she knew wouldn't be too shocked to find her in this state.
Approaching the counter, the girl chewed on her thumb nail and stared at the menu. It was silly, really. She ordered the same drink every time, but she still felt the need to check the menu as if something was going to change. Finally, she turned her blue eyes toward the girl behind the counter and smiled. "A grande white chocolate mocha with double espresso, please." She forked over the money and stepped aside to wait for her drink. All the while, her eyes remained focused outside the window. She loved to watch people as they passed by. They were more interesting than they knew.
When her drink was finally ready, Kimmie took it and headed for an empty table. She pulled her iPod out of her pocket and plugged one of the earbuds into her ear. She still wanted to be able to hear if anyone worth talking to showed up. Her foot bounced in time to the music, and she let her eyes close, content to let herself continue slowly waking up until some better plan presented itself.

Siena was in a fairly decent mood. She was tired from the night before. Long hours taking to her father about the cancer benefit he was having. All he wanted was her input, and apparently that took til 3a.m. It was ridiculous, but any chance she had to talk to her dad she would take it. It was an oddity to talk to her father for more than 30 minutes.
She walked into the Coffee Bean and walked up to the counter, ordering the same thing as always, a tall green tea. She was a health freak. Ever since her mother died, she was almost obsessive about.

Not much further into her coffee, Kimmie was starting to wake up. The chime of the door had quieted for a bit, but when it chimed again, but she knew it wouldn't last for long. In fact, it was only a couple of minutes before it chimed again, and Kimmie opened her eyes.
She started at the girl's feet and worked her way up the slender legs to find a short dress and the continuation of a fantastically pleasing figure leading to a face that was beautiful, but also one that she recognized. A slight blush tinted her cheeks and she chuckled at herself. Everyone knew Siena was gorgeous. It wasn't as if it was a surprise to her, and it wouldn't have been a surprise to Siena, either.
Tossing her head to remove a stray curl from her eyes, Kimmie let out a sigh and stood, drink in hand. She quickly crossed the room and draped an arm over the other girl's shoulders. "Long night?" she asked. It wasn't as if it was obvious or anything, but Kimmie figured a lot of Siena's nights were long for one reason or another. If she had half the figure the other girl had, she'd make sure her nights were long, anyway. Besides, teasing Siena could almost always bring about a reaction that would make Kimmie smile.

Siena jumped a little when she felt an arm go over her shoulders. Though, she smiled when she saw it was Kimmie. She hadn't seen the girl in a while. She'd turned into a hermit after Abby went missing.
"Very long night," she said with a sigh as she took her tea. "Dad's in Japan, and I've been having to help him with everything state side." She said with a shrug. She didn't mind it too much. She loved talking to her dad. She missed him, a lot.

Kimmie nodded slowly, trying to pretend she understood anything about parents. As it was, her own parents hadn't spoken to her in six years, and she honestly couldn't say she would be glad if the phone rang and either of them was on the other end. "How long is gone for?" Kimmie asked, leading the way back to the table she'd just vacated without really thinking about it. Her eyes were very busy gauging the other girl's reaction. Truthfully, Kimmie was curious about what it would be like to have a close relationship -- or any relationship, really -- with her father.
Shaking her head, the girl forced a few more curls loose from her ponytail. Parental relationships weren't something she really needed to be thinking about at this point. What she really needed was a distraction. A sad smile touched her lips and all at once, she realized that she missed Abby. It wasn't as if she hadn't missed her before. She just missed the simplicity of someone who would offer her a distraction without expecting too much in return. And Kimmie wasn't all that great at giving things in return.
By the time they reached the table, Kimmie had gone quiet, and she wasn't even entirely sure what they had been talking about anymore. So, she pasted a rather vacant smile on her face and watched her friend, silently wishing that things in this town weren't so different from the way they had been.

"It's been about year. He'll be back next week." Siena said with a sad smile. She hadn't really realized how long it'd been. It'd been a whole year. he'd missed her birthday, her finally getting her license, her first break up, first love, he'd missed almost everything.
"How've you been?" she asked, forcing a smile to her face. She didn't like dwelling on sad things, it wasn't really her style.

She felt horrible about it, but Kimmie was having a hard time fighting off the jealousy she was suddenly met with. She kept telling herself that she didn't care if she never saw or heard from her parents again (and that was looking to be the most likely case), but no one could really be completely okay with the idea of being completely ignored. Shaking her head again, she forced herself to come back to the moment. "Well, at least he's coming back, right?" she asked, mentally kicking herself. Typically, Kimmie had better control over the things she said than she seemed to be having today.
Fortunately, her friend gave her a way to steer the conversation another direction. "I've been okay, I guess... Nothing special. I mean... I'm not like in love or anything, so I don't have a lot to tell." She shrugged and then frowned, realizing that she'd given them nothing to talk about. A slight huff escaped Kimmie's lips. Conversations had never felt forced between her and Siena, and she wasn't sure what to do about it. "How about you? Aside from the whole dad thing, I mean... How've you been?"
