Addy has just finished moving into her ridiculously small dorm on campus at Richmond University and now just needed a break. She didn't know anyone here, and for some reason the university thought it would be smart to place a lonely girl such as herself in single studio room. Sure, it was big compared to all of the other dorms, but Addy had canvas' strewn about, her keyboard and all of her painting supplies. It was a studio apartment without a kitchen.
She sighed, the kitchen was the part she missed. At home in New York she had a beautiful little kitchen where she could dabble in the culinary arts. Here she had to go out for coffee instead of use her favorite little french press machine. Addy sat down and inhaled the aroma coming from her porcelain cup. She desperately needed the caffeine and perhaps a smoke. Too bad she left her box of Parliaments at home. Addy sighed again. louder then before. Girl really needed a friend, this town was already feeling lonely. [/blockquote]

It was the first day in a while Jack was on his way to the coffee shop just cause he simply wanted one and not because his head was pounding from the night before. He'd managed a whole night in with no drink, he was pretty sure he needed it and he couldn't lie, he felt better for it. Not that he would admit it, he love his life, the parties, the drinking, the late night, it was only the aftermath he wasn't so keen on. But who liked hangovers really?
The line was short and there wasn't many people around so he quickly had his caffine fix ready to go, it was nice outside so he was planning on sitting and just chilling having a smoke and drinking his coffee on the seats outside. He was nearly to the door when he reached into his pocket to find his lighter was no where to be found. He looked around the bleakly filled cafe for someone who might have a lighter otherwise it looked like his nicotine fix would have to wait. His brown eyes fell on a pretty brunette and he walked over "Hey, sorry to bother you, but you don't have a lighter do you?" He asked surprisingly polite for him.

Addy was pretty focused on taking in her surroundings that she didn't even look up when someone asked for a lighter. She quickly dug into her slouchy brown leather bag and pulled out an expensive ivory zippo. She looked up at the stranger and smiled. Cute, she thought to herself. "I'll make you a deal, you let me bum a cig off you, you can use this lighter whenever you want." she said in her normal playful tone. She desperately needed a cigarette, her nerves were off the wall and she needed sweet smoke to pollute her lungs and clear her head.
"So?" she said spinning the zippo cleverly around in her hands. She remember getting this lighter, mostly because it was special. She remembered being taken into a back room in Chinatown and led to the secret small 'room' where they kept the real stuff. The real ivory, the real gold, the contraband. She got a good deal no doubt about it, but still that first journey into the dark stock rooms of the street vendors was one she'd never forget. Tyler told her to do it, to trust a random man and venture inside to a wonderful world. It was one of the few things he was right about.

Jack was desperate for a cig, he had been cutting back, or at least he had been trying, he was sick of getting into the same argument and hearing the same lecture over and over every time he sparked up. But that wasn't going all that well he'd cut back on maybe 2 cigs and that wasn't much of a dent into 20-30 a day was it. He smirked a little at her deal, he liked her already, "Well I guess that works but I have another condition, if I give you a cig you come and sit with me outside while you smoke it? I mean, wheres the fun in sitting on your own?" He said with a smile as he pulled out his pack of cigarettes and held it out with a raised brow "Whad-ya say? Do we have a deal?"
Jack hated being on his own, especially now, being alone with his thoughts was never a good idea, when he though he usually became one of two things pissed off or upset and he'd rather not be either if he could help it. Besides, this girl seemed nice and well, she was pretty cute to, why wouldn't he want to sit and talk to her? It just made sense.

Addy raised a brow at his injection into the conversation. She liked guys with confidence. She wasn't used to sheer confidence, she was mostly just used to the cocky assholes in Brooklyn who either wanted to "paint her beautiful skin" (aka fuck the shit out of her" or "eat her up like a pizza". Neither were to appealing to her. She knew how to paint and those boys who wanted to paint her really just wanted her naked. If that's all they wanted, she'd appreiciate the honesty, it's not like she was so high and mighty that she didn't like a one night stand every now and then. But then again she wasn't her sister.
Addy bit her lip and smiled a coy smile. "Deal" she said swiping the cigarettes out of his hands and following him outside to his table where she swiftly whipped out a cigarette from his pack and placed it neatly between her cherry red lips. She enjoyed red lipstick, it looked fantastic against he almost olive complexion. She handed him the pack and the lighter, "I'm Addison by the way, but please, call me Addy." she said on her first exhale sighing and enjoying the smoke in her throat.

It would be a lie to say Jack never had alterier motives to talking to hot girl but that wasn't to say he always had the aim to get a girl into bed. Not straigh away anyway. If it happened later on he wouldn't complain of course but it wasn't what he had spoke to and invited her outside for a cigarette with him.
It would also be a lie to say that Jack didn't lie to get girls into his bed, that he didn't pretend sometimes to be that nice guy that you could trust, he went into that sweet charming guy automatically at times, so easily that he sometimes thought it was the real him, then he'd go back and then thinks its just because hes got that good at it.
He sat opposite her at the table and lit his own cig before passing the lighter back to her "I'm Jack, you new around here?" he asked, he prided himself on knowing people from close by, he by no means thought he knew everyone but he was quite sure he would have remember a face (and a body) like hers if he went past it before.

Addy smiled, "Yeah, I just moved in." she said as she inhaled and exhaled. She always felt like Audrey Hepburn when she smoked. She liked to imagine herself as a classy smoker, not a trashy one like her sister. Addy often compared herself to her little sister. They were almost polar opposites, she was a jock and Addy was an artist.
"I'm studying art at Richmond." she included. She always thought that was an interesting fact to share straight up. Because really thats who she was, an artist, through and through. you could tell by the little specks of white paint on her black tank dress. You could tell by the way she dressed in colors darker than her personality. She was a bleeding artist. She pushed a lock of lightly curled hair out of her face and blinked a couple times, her dark eyes meeting his. "I haven't really had time to meet anyone new here, they put me in a single so all the girls on my floor think I'm weird and anti-social, it sucks. All I want is a couple friends and a normal college experience ya know?" she said exhaling again. "Booze, boys and late nights, but so far all I've got are critiques on my clothes." she exclaimed as she muttered fuckers under her breath. The preppy girls here just didn't understand the complications of her life.

Jack had smoked since he was around 14, he'd started because everyones else smoked, because he wanted to be that tough guy and most of all he wanted to piss his father off. It wasn't meant to turn into the addiction it had but as with most things, it didn't take a lot for Jack to lose control, he had an addictive personality and it had dragged him into some pretty dificult times before.
Jack looked intrested when she said what she was here for "Really? I'm studying law. Not quite as intresting, family thing." He shrugged, he didn't and wouldn't go into any more detail than that. Family was always just a brief conversation when it came to Jack. "Really? Well thats actually not surprising to be honest, the girls here can be a little, cliquie."He said with another drag of his smoke and a sip of coffee "And kind of bitchy" He added when she added the part on them insulting her sense of style "But, on the bright side, you know me now and booze and late nights are my specialties" It wasn't a lie, if anything Jack was far too specialised in these departments. And you just need to give it a little time, people will warm to you eventually." He assured her, you just had to find the right people, not always easy here in Richmond.

Addy nodded along as he spoke noticing that he didn't go into his whole family issues. She totally understood that. Her family was far from functional. With a depressed lonely mother, a dead beat dad and a whore sister what else could she add to the mess? She freely talked about it when asked, but not usually with total strangers, that was too heavy. She smiled when he talked about booze and late nights. Addy set her slender elbows on the table and crossed her legs. "Really? So where is the best place around her for fakes?" she said pulling out her expertly made fake I.D. Sometimes having a late birthday and being eighteen sucked.
"It's done me well, but sometimes I just need a bar setting rather than a shady basement house party." she said licking her lips thinking about her favorite raspberry vodka lemonade. She was an avid drinker. She had always been as long as she remembered. She remembered her first time ever being wasted, at fifteen in a shady apartment in queens. She had made out with two senior boys and pounded back the PBR's like she was born to. You might say that Addy was a budding alcoholic, and you'd be correct. She drank to induce feelings, to propel her art, to create drama in her otherwise dull dismal life. It was not strange to see Addy covered in paint cradling a bottle of Burnett's muttering to herself about nonsense. She liked to party, she liked to be out of control. It was an advantage and a downfall. [/blockquote]

People often accused Jack of having a drinking problem but no one really bothered him about it, not anyone that knew he had over come a lot worse, when he was about 16 he'd started doing things a little worse than drinking, he got addicted to coke, it was no secret, everone knew but he'd turned his back on that during senior year. It hadn't been easy but alcohol seemed to be his replacment for it. He'd always drank but since quiting the coke (and other drugs) he had hit the bottle much harder than before. He liked to claim it was just cause he liked having a good time but part of him did need it. He couldn't go without it for too long.
"Hmm..." Jack thought for a moment, he had never had to used fake ID before, everyone knew who he was and how old he was but that didn't make any difference cause they always knew who his father was a knew that it wouldn't go down well if he wasn't let it. It was the same with most people, if you were in the right crowd there was no problem getting in anywhere. "Let me see it." He said reaching for it so he could take a closer look, it looked pretty legit. "You shouldn't have much trouble anywhere but some places are just picky about who they let in, old enough or not." He shurgged passing it back. He didn't want to brag but he was going to say something about him not really needing ID "My dads kinda... a big deal around here so me and my friends usually just go straigh in" He explained without trying to sound like he was bragging that he was son of the biggest lawyer in town. His dad had dirt on everyone, too, that was the other things people worried about when it came to the Sinclairs. Jason could ruin almost all the big shots in town if he wanted to with what he knew about them. Blackmail was always very effective at getting what you wanted.

Addy listened intently as he told her that her fake was good enough, "Thank God, I've never had a problem in Manhattan, so I can't imagine a bar in Richmond would give me trouble." she said flipping her hair. She never had trouble because she was a girl, no, because she was a hot girl. She knew that when you wore a push up bra and a short skirt the world was pretty much your oyster.
She looked at him a bit confused when he talked about his father. She knew these types, the type of people with the family name that pretty much got whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. She sighed, she'd heard it all before. Not that she held it against him, it just wasn't anything new to her. "Oh I understand." she said uninterested then changing the subject, "Can I have another cig? I go through these like gum." she said twirling her lightly curled hair in her fingers. "So besides boozing, what's fun to do around here?" she said with her signature, bright tantalizing smile.

"Besides, a pretty girl like you shouldn't need fake ID here anway." It was the same everywhere, good looking, hot girls never had trouble getting into almost anywhere. Jack knew this becuase he was usually one hitting on all of these girls that got in just on their looks. Not that he was shallow, honest.
Jack wouldn't have his life any other way, he'd only ever known being Richmond Royalty and though he didn't relie on it like a lot of other people did he loved it, he liked to abues it too, people like him were meant to reprisent the family, saty out of trouble and not draw bad attention, he did the exact opposite, "tarnished the Sinclair" as his father would say but Jack knew his father was just as bad, he was just more tactful about it.
Jack rached into the pack of smoked and pulled 2 out. He knew he shouldn't smoke another but it would be rude to not smoke when she did, that was his excuse anyway. "Hmm, theres the beach, always a good place for meeting people too, when it's hot half of the towns usually there."

Addy perked up a bit when he called her pretty. She knew she was good looking, but it never hurt to hear it from someone else. "You're not to bad yourself champ." she said playfully punching him in the shoulder. She was starting to feel comfortable around this guy. She wasn't sure how or why, but it was nice. To feel like she could actually have a conversation with someone.
She nodded at his response, "The beach is good, but I like all those little hidden gems, the places not to many people go." she said taking a long drag and blowing her smoke into the wind. "What do you do for fun?" she said tapping mindlessly on the metal table. She wanted to know more about him. All she knew right now was that he was studying law, was smooth and had a rich powerful daddy. She wanted the dirty little secrets.

Jack smirked a little when she punched him in the shoulder he knew he was good looking but who didn't like a compliment, even someone an ego as big as his liked to hear it every now and again, even if it wasn't going to help that arrogance problem of him. Well, some thought it was a problem, he personally thought it was one of his best traits. It hadn't let him down so far. "Thanks" He smirked before taking a drag of his second smoke. He loved the burn as it seaped down his throat into his lungs the taste it left on his tounge and the light feeling in his head with each drag.
"Hmm" He said and thought a little about some of 'hidden gems' around here. "Theres this opening in the woods, about 4 miles in, its just really quiet and peacful." It was where he went to just get away from everything else. Where he could escape all the crap going on in the town and pretend it wasn't happening. "For fun? I'm a football played as well as almost every other sport I can fit in between practice. And... I'm kinda a bit obsessed with car. And I play guitar, but no one really knows that..." He shrugged. He sounded like such a typical jock, from the outside he was but under it all he was a maze of secrets, layers of things people couldn't image. He was a lot more complex than most people knew.

Addy smiled, he reminded her so much of one of her guy friends at home. But he also reminded her of Tyler, which wasn't a good thing. "You play guitar?" she said sipping the last bit of her coffee. "Do you play well?" she asked looking down the street at an old man walking his dog. The old man looked dapper in a full three piece suit and old style fedora hat. She made a mental note to paint a picture of something like that late. She wished she had her Nikon. Not that she was good at photography or anything, but she could use that picture as a reference.
